Training
MMRC Exoskeleton Paraplegic Walking Program
Control of therapeutic exoskeletons require sophisticated training and constant adjustment of treatment parameters. Utmost attention must be paid to device fitment, control, and safety during training. Longitudinal data is collected for each patient and treatment outcomes are monitored over time.
The MMRC Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation team is a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and prosthetics & orthotics experts, who are fully trained to conduct exoskeleton training for acute and chronic SCI patients. The team is certified to use devices including the EksoGT, The Freebionics Freewalk, and the SuitX Phoenix.
In 2020 The MMRC Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Team was given the Hospital Authority's OUTSTANDING TEAM AWARD for their teamwork, innovation and dedication in SCI rehab services.
